  1. Clark Swartz says:

I have a 1990 Kestrel with down tube shifters. What can I do to upgrade to bar type shifters. Mine is a 7 speed.

    • kestrelbicycles says:

You can put on bar end shifters but the issue is finding 7spd. You can’t upgrade to 10spd since the frame isn’t designed for it. At this point, if you want to keep the bike and not put a lot of money into it, I would check a few websites who may have some shifters around.

      Hope that helps.

  2. Carl Charbonneau says:

I am the proud owner of a 2003 kestrel talon. i picked it up from a frind that need some cash. long story short this is my second bike. first one was a Felt 65. great bike but not perfect. then i got the Kestrel. but the old owner did not really take that great of care that it should have had. he broke the seat post and i am unsure of what type is the oem so to say. he put an round seat post rather then the one it should have. i want to get the right one but dont know where to get it or witch one is correct for it. the talon is a 2003 and is set up for the areo seat post. can anyone help??? thank you for any help you can give.

Your local bike shop can call in and order a post for you. Your bike allows you to use a round post and the Kestrel aero post. Hope that helps.

      • Carl Charbonneau says:

that would be great but i forgot to say that i am stationed in Japan. so finding parts is a hit or miss. and i dont want to buy off line if i dont know if it is the right one i there a part number for that?

  3. Carl Charbonneau says:
