What year is it?

Posted: June 16, 2010 in KestrelBlog

Someone asked me what year it was and I said 2011. Seriously! The bike industry screws up your timelines. I’m currently working and almost done my 2011 bikes. Yep, 2011! My life in the bike industry is always 1 year ahead of where we are today.

It’s a bit complicated as production time on a frameset to develop, at least for Kestrel is 18 months so if I’m not working well in advance, I’m officially “pooched” when the following year comes along and don’t have my new bikes ready.

My days are broken up by years. I get calls from customers asking about 2009 product, I’m currently selling 2010 product to dealers, and I’m finalizing my 2011 catalog now. Heck, I’m even planning 2012 bikes!

The great news is that 2010 bike sales are rockin, 2011 bikes look sweet and the catalog even better, thanks Brandbetty.com for all her hard work, and 2012 is coming along well.

Stay tuned for some sneak peaks at the 2011 products.

OK, back to work šŸ™‚

I’m a member of the BlueSeventy-Nuun Elite Tri Project and am one of the fortunate few to be riding a 2010 Kestrel 4000. Can’t say enough about the ride…absolutely love it. Can’t wait to see what 2011 has in store. Thanks again Steve!
